Everyone seems to be starting a private practice these days.

And there’s good reason for that, but I’ve also noticed a lot of therapists going into private practice without realistic expectations for the amount of work it takes and for the outcomes they can expect from the work they put in.

This is not surprising because graduate school is focused on clinical skills, not business skills, and many of the private practice consultants out there try to sell the dream of easy peasy private practice life to (candidly) sell more of their programs 🙊

Private practice is lovely and it’s also hard work, and it’s important and helpful to have realistic expectations going into this venture.

It’s also important to understand what it really looks like to run a private practice, so you can decide whether private practice is the right path for you (because it is 1000000% ok if it’s not!).

All of this is the reason I created this workshop.

This workshop is:

• For graduate students and mental health professionals with any level of training who are curious about private practice and interested in learning more about working for a private practice and/or running your own private practice

• To help you manage expectations when working for or running your own private practice

This workshop is not:

• Private practice consultation

We will cover:

• The good, the bad, and the ugly of operating a private practice

• Assurance that not going into private practice is ok

• What to look for in a 1099 vs. W2 position

Date: May 1st, 2026

Time: 12:00 - 1:30 pm

Location: Virtual (you’ll receive a link the week of the event)

Cost: $15
