Frequently asked questions

Got questions? We’ve got answers.

  • Yes, most of our therapists offer a mixture of in-person and virtual sessions. We have two therapists, Lauren and Aly, who offer virtual sessions only.

  • Our office is located within the Fairview Building, which is on North Ave. across from the Container Store at Mayfair Mall. Our address is 10425 W. North Ave. Suite 236 Wauwatosa, WI, 53226.

We also offer online therapy (see next FAQ question for more information).

  • We are happy to offer virtual counseling sessions available through a HIPAA-compliant, secure platform for Wisconsin, Florida, and Utah, Vermont, and New Jersey residents.

Due to current licensure requirements, all of our therapists can meet with Wisconsin residents. Florida, Utah, and Vermont residents can meet with Jordan only. New Jersey residents can meet with Lauren only.

  • It's convenient! It allows you to have therapy sessions at times you might not otherwise be able to, such as in between classes or when you’re feeling sick but still well enough to have a session.

It's comfortable! Our office is very welcoming and warm, but you may feel especially comfortable when having sessions from your home. You can even do it in your pajamas with your pet sitting right next to you!

It literally meets you where you're at! You can meet with your therapist from anywhere in the state of Wisconsin (or Florida , New Jersey, Utah, or Vermont). Whether you are at home, work or school, your car, or the beach, as long as you have a private space, you and your therapist can have a productive session from wherever you are.

Less barriers in your way! It allows for extra ease. No travel time. No getting stuck in traffic. No barrier of brutal Wisconsin winter weather or Florida hurricanes keeping you trapped inside. Just find a private, comfortable spot with internet, and you are ready to go.

  • Therapy can be helpful for so many different reasons:

    • Non-judgmental and unbiased support

    • Exploring and learning how to tolerate difficult emotions

    • Processing trauma and stressful situations

    • Learning about yourself

    • Improving your relationships with others

    • A safe place to talk to a compassionate person

    • And more!

  • To begin, your therapist will go over the policies, such as cancellation, payment, and confidentiality. The rest of the session will be focused on you and starting to build a strong, trusting relationship between you and your therapist. You may discuss what brought you to therapy, your background and story, what you're hoping to get out of therapy, and anything else that you would like to share.

Our hope is for you to leave the first session feeling understood and with a sense of direction for what’s next.

  • The answer is: it depends! We know, probably not the answer you were looking for, but it’s actually good news. Length of time in therapy will vary for each person depending on their individual needs. This is something that you and your therapist will touch base on throughout your time together to ensure that therapy is meeting your needs.

  • That’s okay! Therapy is a process that needs collaboration and commitment from both you and your therapist to be successful.

While you take some time to get ready to start therapy, check out the Specialty pages of this website for other resources.
